In the early morning hours of April 15th, 1912, the RMS Titanic sinks after striking an iceberg late on the evening of April 14th. More than 1,500 souls either drown or dies due to the frigid 25 degree temperature of the North Atlantic. It is the first time the SOS distress signal is used.
