    Vigil Remembering Tulsa Race Riots-90 Years Later

After sixteen hours of attacks, hundreds were injured and nearly 10,000 people were left homeless. A candlelight vigil will be held Wednesday night from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Park in downtown Tulsa. The white elevator operator, Sarah Page, claimed that Rowland grabbed her arm, causing her to flee in panic. Accounts of the incident circulated among the city’s white community during the day and became more exaggerated with each telling.
